Our First 'Gilmore Girls' Trailer Wants Very Badly to Remind Us We Are All Lorelai
We’ve been getting steady updates as to which original cast members will be returning for Netflix’s Gilmore Girls revival, but other details have been sparse. Now, we finally have one big piece of this puzzle: a release date!
Despite wishes that Amy Sherman-Palladino has shared in the past, all four 90-minutes episodes (each correlating to a season to make up Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life) will be released at midnight-oh-one on November 25th, 2016. So tell your families you’re not coming home for Thanksgiving. You’ve got other plans.
In addition to a premiere date, we also have our first trailer. It features both women at full, peak Gilmore: both drinking coffee and eating Pop-Tarts, Rory looking stuff up, and Lorelai asking the questions we all ask, like if Amy Schumer would want to be her friend if only the two could meet.
I’ve seen this video called both a “clip” and a “trailer,” but doesn’t it feel more like a supplemental ad? I’m a reasonable human being and I know full well that there’s no way this revival will feel exactly like our memories of the original. Still, it feels more like an ad for the characters than a scene featuring them, so that’s what I’m hoping it is. In that context, it’s great!
And for what it’s worth, Amy Schumer spoke out to tell Lorelai she’s super wrong. Obviously. Those two would get along so well, and say SO many words.

I've only done 2 water sports and they took pictures of it both times. I promise I usually just lay there (sex too) https://t.co/yTQRvIBgqm— Amy Schumer (@amyschumer) July 27, 2016
