By now you’ve probably seen the Venom trailer. But that wasn’t the only new footage on offer this week! Well… actually, it mostly was. It’s been a slow, scrape-the-barrel kinda week in terms of trailers. It’s almost like Hollywood realized that the marketing push for Avengers: Infinity War would be hitting a fever-pitch right around now and decided to sit this one out.

So, what did make its way out for public consumption? Well, Netflix released the usual flurry of stuff. There’s this very strange clip of Luke Cage throwing a fucking MASSIVE tire around:

Luke Cage Season 2 returns to Netflix June 22nd, 2018

And this video announcing that Stranger Things Season 3 is officially in production. It’s, uh, weirdly portentous.

And this trailer for a Korean reality show about entertainers pretending to be detectives solving crimes? It’s called Busted!, it premieres May 4th, and I’m kinda here for ALL OF IT:

Also new this week:

Kin: “Coming Soon” (August 31st, maybe?)
I don’t even know what to make of this. It’s a Stranger Things-esque sci-fi throwback about a family bonding… over an alien gun? But at least James Franco is continuing his streak of just playing random fucking secondary creeps, and will likely be overshadowed by the combined talents of Zoë Kravitz AND Carrie Coon.

Leave No Trace: In Theaters This Summer
Ben Foster plays a war vet with PTSD who lives off the grid in a park in Oregon with his teenage daughter, played by Thomasin McKenzie. The film is director Debra Granik’s first feature film since 2010’s Winter’s Bone — and if McKenzie earns the kind of notice that Jennifer Lawrence got, we should be seeing a lot more of her in the years to come!

Whitney: In Theaters July 6th, 2018
This estate-approved documentary about the life of the legendary Whitney Houston will include interviews (Kevin Costner?!), unreleased recordings and home-movie footage.

Uncle Drew: In Theaters June 29th, 2018
It’s a basketball comedy based on (double-checks description) “a fan-favorite digital episodic series, originally conceived by Pepsi”… but really just take a look at the cast: Kyrie Irving, Lil Rel Howery, Shaquille O’Neal, Reggie Miller, Nate Robinson, Chris Webber, Erica Ash, Lisa Leslie, Tiffany Haddish and Nick Kroll.
