Did it work? Did Netflix uncancel Jessica Jones? Wait, are you telling me that we went down for 14 hours for nothing?

DAMNIT.

Anyway, while the site was down (actual cause: Petr passed out and fell on our server while watching a viral Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez video), Netflix pulled the plug on The Punisher and Jessica Jones. This comes on the heels of the cancellations of The Defenders, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Daredevil, which means that Netflix is officially out of the Marvel business and that, somehow, Agents of SHIELD outlived all the rest.

(Question: I quit watching Agents a long time ago. Is Tyra still on it?)

Anyway, The Punisher had just aired its second season, while the third season of Jessica Jones has not yet premiered, but it’s canceled anyway. The third season will nevertheless air. Meanwhile, the head of Marvel TV says that the shows may live on in a different format, which sounds like something that executives say to diffuse the outrage and hope that everyone eventually forgets about it while they plan their cartoon series, The Adventures of Rocket Racoon and Groot.

But don’t worry, y’all. The Newsroom may be coming back.

Also, for real: We apologize for the FOURTEEN HOURS OF DOWNTIME. It was out of our control, and I hope you all understand that the writers here all live inside your computer and when the site goes down we all have to huddle together to keep warm. TK drank the whole flask while no one was looking. Thankfully, our collective disdain for Green Book and Bohemanian Rhapsody’s Oscar chances ignited a hate-fire that kept us hot in the dark, cold bowels of the Interwebs, while the pile of subscription boxes that have piled up in Kristy’s office kept us fed.
