I may be excited about Netflix’s upcoming Jessica Jones series for different reasons than some of you, specifically, comic readers. Oh, I’ve got her story fired up and ready to go now,
but for me, the anticipation has been about the fantastic cast, Krysten Ritter, Carrie-Anne Moss, Mike Colter, and David Tennant, and the bar set by Netflix’s Daredevil adaptation. And, of all the oddities I never knew I really needed, Tennant as wildly wicked as Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk; ever since I read Marvel’s, Jeph Loeb making that comparison, I’ve practically been salivating to check out his Kilgrave performance, which sounds like a great departure from his Tenth Doctor and Alec Hardy.
This first reveal isn’t exactly what we might have expected; nevertheless, it’s a creepy hint of what’s to come.
I am ready.
Btw, for those of you who aren’t yet signed up for Netflix streaming, the company has raised its pricing by $1.00. New customers will now have to pay $9.99 per month; while previous subscribers maintain the $8.99 charge for one more year. With the addition of new Marvel series every six months, I’d say that alone is worth the hike. Now, I just need to figure out how to build that button without blowing myself up.
Jessica Jones debuts on Netflix November 20th.
