Netflix Just Got 30 Percent* Better

Netflix is great. There’s never a shortage of original series (although the movie selection could be improved) and, in fact, there’s too many for any one person to keep up with (seriously, I have tried).

The one problem with Netflix is this: It’s often not there when we need it the most. When we’re on a plane. Or at the beach. Or on a camping trip. Or when the goddamn Internet goes out, and we can’t do anything else, which would be the perfect time to watch Netflix except we need the Internet to watch Netflix, damnit!

Not anymore.

In other words:

Netflix members worldwide can now download in addition to stream great series and films at no extra cost.

While many members enjoy watching Netflix at home, we’ve often heard they also want to continue their Stranger Things binge while on airplanes and other places where Internet is expensive or limited. Just click the download button on the details page for a film or TV series and you can watch it later without an internet connection.

That X-mas flight to your grandmother’s house, where she’s still on AOL dial-up, just got a lot more pleasant.

*30 percent figure varies depending on your Internet quality and availability.
