Here's Your First Look at Jon Bernthal as 'Daredevil's' Punisher, Plus 'Jessica Jones'' Episode List

Of all the Walking Dead characters come and gone, the one I miss most is Shane Walsh, hauntingly played by Jon Bernthal.

So, when I heard he was cast as the Punisher in Netflix’s TOTALLY KICKASS adaptation of Daredevil, I practically jumped up and down. With that promise of new Marvel series every six months, filming for the series’ second season is already well under way, and now we’re getting our first look at a banged-up Bernthal as Frank Castle aka the Punisher:

If I’m not incorrect, looks like he’s roughing up a cop.

Oh, and there’s this guy too:

If my instincts are correct, that bad cop was in the process of taking Mr. Doggy into custody, so Castle roughed up the cop while his goons rescued the poor pup, who’ll now serve as Punisher’s trusty sidekick, P-38 aka the Can Opener.

Meanwhile, up next on the Netflix-Marvel slate is Jessica Jones, starring Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss, and David Tennant — and speaking of the former Doctor, Marvel Head of Television, Jeph Loeb likens Tennant’s Kilgrave to Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin:

“In the same kind of way Vincent D’Onofrio owned his half of Daredevil, you’ll see David Tennant own his half of Jessica Jones… What you get out of Jessica is a sort of hold-your-breath tension as to what’s going to happen. When you see the dynamic between Krysten Ritter and David Tennant… that question of ‘What’s going to happen next?’ and ‘What could happen next?’ and how that’s driven by character is something that is so important to not just the scripts but also the way the show is shot, and the way that everyone reacts, and the way those two react with each other.”

Lordy, I could not be more psyched for these two series.
