I’m going to write about this at length a little later, but God, I love the half-hour streaming comedy. Finishing any season of television is satisfying, but to do so in a matter of hours? I fucking love it. I think all dramas should be released on an episode-per-week basis, and all half-hour comedies should go on Netflix or Amazon. It took me 3 days to watch all of The Keepers, but I finished two half-hour comedies in one day over the weekend. It felt so accomplishing! I understand that the runtime for the two comedies was equal to one season of The Keepers, but psychologically, it just feels incredibly satisfying.
Anyway, here’s another half hour comedy coming to Netflix, and even better, it’s only 8 episodes. That’s only four hours, or basically what one episode of Twin Peaks feels like! People we love are in it! They do stupid things. And it comes from Nicholas Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall), and Kevin from Wonder Years does a lot of coke.
The cast includes Keegan-Michael, Cobie Smulders, Annie Parisse, Nat Faxon, Fred Savage, Jae Suh Park, Billy Eichner, and guest stars Seth Rogen and Kate McKinnon. It’s called Friends from College, and it looks like a blast that I’ll finish in one sitting and not think about again!
