If you’re a fan of Netflix’s Daredevil, and the upcoming Jessica Jones (as well as Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Defenders), it pays to live in New York City. But no worries, lucky for us there are people with cameras and phones, Twitter and Instagram; heck, within minutes, we’re practically right there alongside those Manhattanites. When filming of Daredevil, Season 2 began in East Harlem yesterday, a local photographer snapped these photos of Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock and Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson, which spread across the interwebosphere like wildfire:

Nothing earth-shattering there, but it’s still cool that they’ve already begun filming, especially since a short while back, we weren’t sure if or when we’d even get a second season. Because Marvel and Netflix had already planned out the first five series, most assumed we’d get them in exactly that order — and that Daredevil might be on standby until they’d filmed and/or aired — but it looks like we’ll see Season 2 in 2016.

Meanwhile, over on the Twitter (I loved it when Dave put “the” in front of technological terms), Jon Bernthal aka The Punisher is also readying himself for Season 2:

I’m guessing he’s got quite a bit of studying ahead of him, since showrunner Marco Ramirez is calling the new season “Daredevil vs. Punisher.” In addition to Cox and Henson, Deborah Ann Woll and Rosario Dawson are confirmed to return, and rumor has it Bullseye (as yet uncast) will appear.

And finally, in some late-breaking news, Daredevil has found its Elektra! The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and G.I. Joe: Retaliation’s Élodie Yung will star as the ill-fated “mysterious woman from Matt Murdock’s past.”

“After a worldwide search, we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity. Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for.” (Head of Marvel Television and EP, Jeph Loeb)

I’ve only seen Yung in Dragon Tattoo, so I can’t say much other than, “Yay, she’s not white!” Have at your own cheers or groans in the comments.
