Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean anything unless you want it to do so. You don’t have to drag your significant other out on a Thursday night, scrambling for a table at the least-packed restaurant in town, give them grocery store flowers, and pretend life has meaning because of a date on a calendar.

Instead, stay home and fool your beloved into thinking they’ll be enjoying a night in watching romantic movies with you. Just use my descriptions below to sell them on entertainment that’s actually interesting and settle in for two shows: The movie and then when they become angry after your deception is swiftly unmasked.

That’s when you should run away while yelling, “CANDY WILL BE ON CLEARANCE AT TARGET TOMORROW! REMEMBER, YOU LOVE ME!”

It’s the story of a man attempting to overcome every obstacle placed in his way just to be with the woman he loves. Not even disapproving parents can keep Robert away from his beloved, Jan, as he pursues her over the course of more than three years.

After traveling to an isolated bar to perform with his band, Pat (Anton Yelchin) meets Amber (Imogen Poots), a woman that will change the course of his life. As the odds against them grow worse, they form an unbreakable bond that eventually frees them both.

Scarlett (Perdita Weeks) convinces her old flame and partner in crime, George (Ben Feldman), to join her on a quest to recover Flamel’s Philosopher’s Stone. Armed with knowledge, a cameraman, and a rag-tag group of French explorers, the couple goes in search of the greatest fabled treasure in history.

A scientist (Ed Skrein) holds Julia (Maika Monroe) and Tau (Gary Oldman) captive in his high-tech house while he uses them to perfect a technological breakthrough. With no one else to turn to, Julia and Tau grow closer and closer while plotting to escape the clutches of their captor.
