When news broke that Fox’s little watched, much loved Raising Hope will air its final episodes on April 4th, I realized it meant that my favorite married television couple from Natesville (and possibly all of TV), Virginia and Burt Chance, will be leaving me. Soon, I will be without a fictional marriage to steal ideas from, because without not only the Chances, but also power-perfect duo Brad and Jane from Happy Endings, and of course, the immortal Eric and Tami Taylor from Friday Night Lights, who can I look up to now?
Although I love Leslie Knope and Ben Wyatt from Parks and Recreation and their lovable role-playing ways, they just seem just a tad too cute. At times, How I Met Your Mother’s Marshall Eriksen and Lily Aldrin fit the bill, but they mostly went the way of The Office’s Jim and Pam Halpert, transforming from the couple you rooted for to the one who were just annoying and too know-it-all.
