Wes Anderson Is Planning a Theme Park, the New Destination For Every Vacation You Will Ever Take

Mark Mothersbaugh, who you either know as one of the founders of Devo, or as Wes Anderson’s longtime composer collaborator, has just released a book of his own visual art. And while that is pretty cool, the really exciting part comes from this excerpt from the book’s forward, written by Anderson:

I hope to soon secure the means to commission the construction of an important and sizeable theme park to be conceived and designed entirely by Mark Mothersbaugh. For 40 years he has set about creating a body of work which amounts to his own Magic Kingdom, where the visitor is amused and frightened, often simultaneously.
WHAAAATT? Okay, yes, Anderson said he wants to commission Mothersbaugh’s work, not develop his own. And Mothersbaugh’s art, and definitely his music, do lend themselves to such an idea. But sorry Mark, because from now on, all anyone wants until the end of time is a Wes Anderson theme park. Can you imagine? A Moonrise Kingdom stage show

With a Life Aquatic water attraction, obviously

And a Darjeeling Limited monorail-type system

Wake me up when this is a real thing, please. I don’t want to exist in the world until then.
