The Police Are Getting Really Weird and Ominous With Quentin Tarantino Now

Over the last few weeks, Quentin Tarantino has been drawing the very public, very vocal ire of police unions all across the country, after he spoke at a rally protesting police brutality. During his speech, Tarantino said, “when I see murders, I do not stand by … I have to call the murderers the murderers.” Since then, police forces have been joining in pledging their boycott of the upcoming Hateful Eight because sure, why not? I’m sure there’s logic in there somewhere.

Now, though, in an interview that sounds like it was given by The Simpsons’ Fat Tony, executive director of the Fraternal Order of Police, Jim Pasco, issued a very ominous threat at Tarantino. In talking about what the police forces of the U.S. have in store for the director, he said, “We’ll be opportunistic.”

Tarantino has made a good living out of violence and surprise. Our offices make a living trying to stop violence, but surprise is not out of the question.
WELL THAT’S FUCKING UPSETTING. Yes, apparently the FOP is plotting to “surprise” Quentin Tarantino as retribution for speaking out against the very real issue of police brutality.
“Something is in the works, but the element of surprise is the most important element,” says Pasco. “Something could happen anytime between now and [the premiere]. And a lot of it is going to be driven by Tarantino, who is nothing if not predictable. The right time and place will come up and we’ll try to hurt him in the only way that seems to matter to him, and that’s economically.”

Tarantino, as he has himself pointed out, did not call ALL police murderers. He did use very Tarantino-esque language for speaking out against the officers who have abused their authority. Still, that makes no difference to Pasco, apparently. When asked if these were threats, Pasco of course said no, not at all.

Police officers protect people. They don’t go out to hurt people.
Yup, police officers help people. Unless those people have insulted police officers in some way or done something to cause the officers to hold a grudge. While the LAPD has said they will be there “to serve and protect” during Hateful Eight’s premiere, the National Association of Police Organizations released a statement calling for police to ignore Tarantino’s needs for safety.
We ask officers to stop working special assignments or off-duty jobs, such as providing security, traffic control or technical advice for any of Tarantino’s projects.
Because sure, when someone criticizes you for abusing your power to the point of putting civilians in danger, what better response than to publicly state your plan to “surprise,” “hurt,” and deliberately NOT protect that person?
