Tap In To Your Inner Princess And Listen To The Soundtrack From Disney's 'Frozen'

Good news, musical nerds! Disney’s latest effort isn’t just for Princess enthusiasts and Snowmen fetishists. It’s one of the first genuinely great animated musicals to come out of the Disney studio in a long time. (Unless you count Randy Newman’s The Princess And The Frog. Which mostly skates by on that heart-wrenchingly sad firefly song.) But if you look at the cast of Frozen, you’ll notice something wonderful. The four leads (the good princess, her “evil” sister, the little snowman creature and the hunky, uh, ice salesman?) are all voiced by musical veterans. Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff respectively. The songs themselves are written by the married team of Robert and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, one half of which created both Avenue Q and The Book Of Mormon. The bouncy soundtrack feels like a return to the vintage 90s animated musical of the Howard Ashman and Alan Menken era (Little Mermaid, Beauty & The Beast). Anyway, the point is, musical nerds, this one’s for you. The deluxe edition of the soundtrack is available to stream on Spofify. Memorize it so you can be That Guy mumble singing along in the theater. Enjoy!
