Simon Pegg posted a few adorable photos of his trip to Marvel today. Any one of us can appreciate the following:
But then Pegg, cheeky monkey that he is, posted the following:
For the uninitiated, that’s Ant-Man that Pegg is subtly gesturing to. Now it’s already common knowledge that Edgar Wright will be directing the forthcoming Ant-Man film. And, to add fuel to that film nerd fire, Joe Cornish (Attack The Block) will be penning the script. So it’s going to be a geekstravaganza. And, of course, as soon as Wright’s name was mentioned as director, Pegg’s name was dropped as a would-be star. And, if we feel like being conspiracy theorists, that’s what Simon’s little winking gesture confirms. However, Pegg is on record as saying the following:
“I don’t know - I don’t think I’d want to play Ant-Man. I think it would be more fun to play a villain in that thing. I’d like to play a villain. But no, they’re going to want some good-looking young American. That’s a Marvel movie - funny-looking British actors don’t play a big part in that unless they’re bad.”
I don’t know, what do you think, could this funny-looking Brit pull it off?
Joanna Robinson is wondering when Tim Bisley started wearing quite so much jewelry.
