I saw this post on the lighthearted ‘Casual UK’ subreddit this morning, and it fired me up way more than I was expecting:

It’s true. This is a matter that simply needs to be sorted now. We’re way past the point of accommodating nonsense here. I’ve nearly come to blows myself over the matter before with some intransigent agents of chaos. So let’s settle this. I’m curious to see what the consensus is here. When someone says ‘next weekend’, are they referring to the first weekend that will arrive, or the subsequent one? Some people are die hard believers in one, and I’ve met plenty of acolytes of the other. So let’s get some numbers on this.

When you say ‘next weekend’, what does that mean?
Counting from today, the first weekend that will arrive
Counting from today, the second weekend that will arrive
Whatever feels right in the moment, because chaos is a ladder
