Oh, How I Loathe You
I’m trying to adjust to a new schedule and my body, which got to spend a whole summer sleeping until around 11am almost every day and then was free to take indulgent and unnecessary naps, is fighting back pretty hard. I keep waking up in the middle of the night totally ready to go, but three or four hours later when I actually have to be awake it’s like I’ve been shot in the ass with a tranq dart. I’m hoping this all sorts itself out within a week because I’d really like to become a productive member of society one day and I get the impression that most of those people aren’t hopping out of bed to start their day at the crack of noon. Here’s your Wednesday night TV:
8:00pm: “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” on ABC. That theme is dumber than dumb.
“Big Brother” on CBS
“Changing Lanes” on BET. Series premiere.
“Masterchef” on Fox
“Minute to Win It” on NBC
“Great Performances: Renée Fleming and Dmitri Hvorostovsky: A Musical Odyssey in St.Petersburg” on PBS. Again with the colon problem, PBS. Just when I think you’re getting better and now this. I just don’t know what to do with you.
9:00pm: “America’s Got Talent” on NBC
“Dark Blue” on TNT
“Ghost Hunters” on SyFy
“Man vs. Food” on Travel
“Man vs. Wild” on Discovery. Bear is headed to Georgia this week and, as the title clarifies, they’re referring to the Georgia in Eastern Europe, not the one between Florida and South Carolina.
“Most Shocking: Bare Knuckle Brawls” on TruTV
“Plain Jane” on The CW. First season finale.
“Wonders of the Solar System” on Science. First season finale.
9:30pm: “A Surprise in Texas: The Thirteenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition” on PBS
10:00pm: “24 Hour Restaurant Battle” on Food Network. First season finale.
“Chasing Mummies” on History. I watched The Mummy again last night because it was on TV for some reason. I still find that movie wildly entertaining and this has nothing to do with the History special which is probably way more historically accurate and features about 1000% less bug related special effects and Arnold Vosloo. Sadly, I think I’d take the movie any day.
“The Choir” on BBCA
“Criss Angel: Mindfreak” on A&E
“Hard Knocks” on HBO
“LA Ink” on TLC
“Pros vs. Joes” on Spike TV
“Psych” on USA
“The Real World” on MTV
“Sci-Fi Science: Physics of the Impossible” on Science. Second season premiere.
“Surviving the Cut” on Discovery
“Top Chef” on Bravo
“Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns” on TBS
Late Night Listings
“The Late Show with David Letterman” on CBS featuring Donald Trump
“The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on NBC featuring Thomas Haden Church, Jules Slyvester, and the Goo Goo Dolls. Really? Those guys are still around? Ok.
“The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” on CBS featuring Rachel Ray and William Knoedelseder
“Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on NBC featuring Anna Wintour, Marc Jacobs, John Cena, and a performance from “Yo Gabba Gabba.” That is one hell of a disconnected line up.
