Pajiba After Dark: Which One's Hot Lips?

We’ve already had today’s major television event (as covered by the lovely Courtney over here and thank god for that because I got a nauseous feeling every time I read about that case so I just didn’t and would have been no good at talking about it) which is excellent because it means tonight’s line up will be less disappointing. In the sense that you’re all TV’ed and righteous indignation-ed out right? Especially after a long holiday weekend where you all (Canadians and Americans, anyway) ate more meat than was advisable, drank more than was wise, and were subjected to shit blowing up either willingly or unwillingly and mostly tonight you’d just like to head to bed early instead of watching tv, right? Because… yeah, there’s no good reason to watch TV tonight. Sorry. Here’s your Tuesday night TV.

8:00pm: “America’s Got Talent” on NBC

“Cupcake Wars” on Food Network

“History Detectives” on PBS

“I Kid with Brad Garrett” on TLC

“Pretty Little Liars” on ABC Family

9:00pm: “101 Ways to Leave a Game Show” on ABC

“19 Kids and Counting” on TLC

“America’s Got Talent” on NBC

“Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern” on Travel

“Deadliest Catch” on Discovery

“Hardcore Pawn” on TruTV

“Masterchef” on Fox

“Memphis Beat” on TNT

“The Nine Lives of Chloe King” on ABC Family

“Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy” on History

“Staten Island Cakes” on WE

“White Collar” on USA

10:00pm: “Aftermath with William Shatner” on Bio. Second season premiere.

“Chopped” on Food Network. Seventh season finale.

“Combat Hospital” on ABC. Anyone seen this yet? So far is it more entertaining or proud of itself? Because the commercials I saw gave off a very distinctive “This is an IMPORTANT SHOW!” sort of vibe which, yes, the wars are extremely important and worthy of our attention. You are a show featuring a hot young cast who think they’re remaking “M*A*S*H” but was more likely pitched as “It’ll be like ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ in Kandahar!” Don’t flatter yourselves.

“Covert Affairs” on USA

“The Cupcake Girls” on WE

“Deadliest Catch” on Discovery

“Gene Simmons Family Jewels” on A&E. OK, so there was some promo for this where Shannon and Gene were talking about (*gasp*) actually getting married but Gene was all “but not tell anyone about it” and I’m like “Seriously? There’s a camera RIGHT THERE. Are you really that dumb?” I mean, I know these shows are somewhat scripted for drama but when you have people just outright not acknowledging the fact that they’re on camera? What’s the point of a reality series? Just write a television show about a family with a fading rock-star as its patriarch and keep that fourth wall firmly in place.

“Hawthorne” on TNT

“How the States Got Their Shapes” on History

“The Little Couple” on TLC

“Million Dollar Decorators” on Bravo

“POV: Sweetgrass by Ilisa Barbash and Lucien Castaing-Taylor” on PBS

“Storage Hunters” on TruTV

“Teen Mom” on MTV. Third season premiere.

“Tosh.0” on Comedy Central

10:30pm: “Cupcake Girls” on WE

Late Night Listings

“The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on NBC featuring Lisa Kudrow, Billy Gardell, and Natasha Bedingfield

“The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” on CBS featuring Stephen Wright, Ellie Kemper, and Adam Savage

“Chelsea Lately” on E featuring Rosario Dawson, Jo Matarese, Ross Mathews, and Sarah Colonna
