“Mad Men” returns tonight which means for a few weeks the lovely Christina Hendricks and the dashing John Hamm will be featured weekly on television again. I’m not super current on the show, I tend to catch the occasional episode on TV and my parents are working their way through the DVDs so a lot of what goes on is I’ll see something from whatever season is current, then watch a few old episodes and it’ll all make much better sense. Probably not the best approach to TV viewing. Of course, I also spend most of my time watching that show drooling over the clothing so I’m probably missing the point on several levels. Anyway, here’s Sunday night’s TV:

7:00pm: “Dateline NBC” on NBC

“Sons of Tuscon” on Fox

8:00pm: “Big Brother” on CBS

“Food Network Challenge: Paranormal Cakes” on Food Network. I’ve tried to make these a couple of times, but it’s so hard to properly fold in the evil spirits without over working the batter.

9:00pm: “Bridezillas” on WE

“Drop Dead Diva” on Lifetime

“Ice Road Truckers” on History

“Leverage” on TNT

“Masterpiece!: Poirot X: Appointment with Death” on PBS

“Ocho Cinco” on VH1. I learned by watching “The Soup” that this is a dating show. Here’s my question; if it works out and someone marries this dude, is she Mrs.Cinco? Or does she become Mrs.Ocho-Seis? Or are we keeping “Cinco” as the family name, which would mean she’d be Mrs.Nueve-Cinco? Will the children be sequentially named as well? I’m probably thinking about this too much, considering this is a man who couldn’t be bothered to find out the proper Spanish translation for his jersey number before legally changing his name.

“Scoundrels” on ABC

“TLC Special: Born on a Bad Day” on TLC. One hour special presentation.

“True Blood” on HBO

10:00pm: “Army Wives” on Lifetime

“Comedy Central Special: Steve Byrne: The Byrne Identity” on Comedy Central. One hour special presentation.

“The Gates” on ABC

“The Glades” on A&E

“Hung” on HBO

“Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami” on E!

“Las Vegas Jailhouse” on TruTV

“Mad Men” on AMC. Fourth season premiere.

“My Boys” on TBS. One hour fourth season premiere.

“The Real L Word” on Showtime

“Strange Sex” on TLC. The title is “Two Boyfriends and a Baby” and that title is more confusing than it is illuminating. Also, I really don’t like the fact that a show called “Strange Sex” has an episode title that involves the word “Baby” in any way at all. Bleargh.

“The TO Show” on VH1

“Top Shot” on History

10:30pm: “Children’s Hospital” on Adult Swim

“Entourage” on HBO

“Holly’s World” on E!

“Strange Sex” on TLC

11:00pm: “Russell Simmons Presents: Stand-Up at the El Rey” on Comedy Cetral

11:30pm: “The Boondocks” on Adult Swim
