That Dog Is Everything I Want to Be

Naps are awesome. While I do wish I was employed in a more regular and definitely a more gainful fashion, one of the big advantages of my current situation is that it allows for nearly daily naps. I think people would be much happier if nap time was a feature through all your life and not just something for pre-schoolers. Think of it; just a two hour break in the middle of the day. You wouldn’t have to nap, you could just read or take a leisurely lunch, but why would you? You can do those things when it’s not nap time. Anyway, I was just reflecting on that since I’ll be napping immediately after I finish this column. Here’s your Wednesday night TV:

8:00 p.m.: “So You Think You Can Dance” on Fox.

9:00 p.m.: “America’s Got Talent” on NBC.

“Are We There Yet” on TBS.

“Clean House” on Style. New two hour episode at a special time.

“Dad Camp” on VH1.

“Ghost Hunters Academy” on SyFy.

“I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant” on TLC.

“Man vs. Food” on Travel Channel.

“Mythbusters: Buster’s Cut” on Discovery. I guess this is kind of like, alternate footage of some myths? It says “alcohol myths” so it’s probably just an hour of the team getting wasted, which is amusing but probably not nearly as much fun if you’re watching on TV as opposed to being there.

“Top Chef” on Bravo.

9:30 p.m.: “Are We There Yet?” on TBS. First season finale. Wait, what? Didn’t this start like a month ago? Oh well, probably for the best.

10:00 p.m.: “Bridal Bootcamp” on VH1. Shows like this make me fantasize about eloping. Jesus Christ, people, it’s ONE DAY. ONE. And it’s meant to be celebrating the life long commitment you are making to another individual, not how awesome you look in an overpriced white dress you’ll never wear again.

“Dinner: Impossible” on Food Network.

“Hot in Cleveland” on TV Land.

“In Plain Sight” on USA. Third season finale.

“The Real World” on MTV. 24th season premiere.

“Through the Wormhole With Morgan Freeman” on Science Channel.

“Toddlers and Tiaras” on TLC. I bet I can draw a straight line between the mentality on display in this show that all girls should aspire to be beautiful princesses and “Bridal Bootcamp” up there. Ick.

“Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns” on TBS. Fourth season premiere.

“Work of Art” on Bravo.

Late Night Listings:

“The Late Show with David Letterman” on CBS featuring Julianne Moore, Mike Massimino, and the New Pornographers.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” on ABC featuring Peter Facinelli, J.B Smoove, Ralph Macchio, and 3OH!3.

“The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” on CBS featuring Mindy Kaling and Myron Mixon.

“The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” on Comedy Central featuring Landon Donovan and Bob Bradley.

“The Colbert Report” on Comedy Central featuring Nicholas Carr.
