The new USA series “Necessary Roughness” premieres tonight and all I can say is thank God because those promos have been running for like the last month and a half during the weekend “Law and Order: We Frown at Things Seriously” marathons and I’ll be happy to see them go. First of all, I keep seeing that one guy and thinking “Hey! It’s that guy from ‘House’ who had a nasty case of thrush!” because that’s all I can think of when I see him. IMDB indicates that his name is Marc Blucas. Good for him. Also, hopefully I won’t have to listen to star Callie Thorne spit “I’m not a hooker, I’m a therapist” like it’s supposed to be funny anymore. Really, though, it just seems like someone played darts with popular drama plot lines and current buzzwords (Divorce! Football! Sexting! Therapy! ) and tried to turn it into a show. Bleh. Anyway, here’s your Wednesday night TV:
7:30pm: “Exes and Ohs” on Logo. Second season premiere.
8:00pm: “Melissa and Joey” on ABC Family. First season summer premiere. Wait, this is still going on? Ok, good for them. Do you think ABC Family is concerned about ratings or is just relying on that kind of parent that will let their kids watch anything on it because it says “Family” in the name of the channel?
“Setup Squad” on Logo
“So You Think You Can Dance” on Fox
“The Voice” on NBC. First season finale.
“State of Georgia” on ABC Family. Series premiere. Starring Raven-Symoné in a role that I guess is supposed to move her up and on from things like “That’s So Raven” without the kind of jarring transition that happens when one of those Disney stars leaps from adorable kids shows and movies to nude pictures and leather (Looking at you, Vanessa Hudgens).
9:00pm: “America’s Got Talent” on NBC
“Franklin and Bash” on TNT
“Haunted Collector” on SyFy
“I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant” on TLC
“Man vs. Food” on Travel
“Mystery Diagnosis” on OWN
“Mythbusters” on Discovery. Ninth season finale.
“Royal Pains” on USA. Third season premiere.
9:30pm: “I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant” on TLC. I don’t know if I’m more ashamed or terrified that they keep finding women to be on this show. Really, it’s sort of a combination of both.
10:00pm: “Behind the Music: Missy Elliott” on VH1. Fourth season premiere.
“Bert the Conquerer” on Travel
“The Supernaturalist” on Discovery
“E! Special: Selena Gomez” on E
“Hollywood Treasure” on SyFy
“Love in the Wild” on NBC. Series premiere.
“Men of a Certain Age” on TNT
