Pajiba After Dark: I'm Thinking of Calling Him President Baby Whisperer From Now On
The big television news tonight is that President Obama is set to make an address outlining the plan to withdraw troops from Afghanistan. Two of the networks have simply elected not to schedule new programming during that block whereas two others, well, see below. Now, because you all know that I adore political discussions SO MUCH I will move right the hell on. Also tonight is another episode of “Jon Benjamin Has a Van” which I am still… I’m still thinking about. I want to like it, which is part of the problem, but it just seems like that sort of aggressive awkwardness that borders on meanness and doesn’t make me laugh so much as it makes me squirm. Anyone have thoughts on the show? Worth a trial run or just forget about it and keep counting the days until “Archer” comes back? Anyway, here’s the rest of you Wednesday night TV:
8:00pm: “Presidential Address to the Nation” on ABC, CBS, and NBC
“So You Think You Can Dance” on Fox. This can’t be right, can it? All the other major networks are airing a Presidential address but Fox is airing regular programming? It probably just means that Fox intends to start SYTYCD immediately after the address, but when I saw this on the site I check for listings it just made me cock my head a little.
“Setup Squad” on Logo
8:10pm: “The Voice” on NBC. And NBC is apparently gambling on a ten minute Presidential address. Let’s see how that goes for them.
9:00pm: “Kathy Griffin: Gurrl Down!” on Bravo
“Franklin and Bash” on TNT
“Haunted Collector” on SyFy
“I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant” on TLC. Fourth season premiere.
“Man vs. Food Nation” on Travel
“Mystery Diagnosis” on OWN
“Mythbusters” on Discovery
“Operation Repo” on TruTV
9:10pm: “America’s Got Talent” on NBC
9:30pm: “I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant” on TLC
10:00pm: “Bert the Conquerer” on Travel
“E! Investigates: Fatal Teen Triangle” on E
“Hollywood Treasure” on SyFy
“Life on a Wire” on Discovery. Series premiere.
“Men of a Certain Age” on TNT
“Nightline Prime: Beyond Belief” on ABC. Second season premiere.
“The Real World/Road Rules Challenge” on MTV. 21st season premiere. I know a few of you are huge fans of this show for reasons that completely escape me. But I’m not one to begrudge anyone their guilty pleasures, so have at it in all its trashy, foul-mouthed, fame-whored glory.
“Rocco’s Dinner Party” on Bravo
“Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman” on Science
“Toddlers and Tiaras” on TLC
“The World According to Dublin” on Oxygen
10:30pm: “Jon Benjamin Has a Van” on Comedy Central
