Tonight Pajiba favorite dude behind the dude H. Jon Benjamin premieres his new show on Comedy Central although he’s apparently just going by “Jon Benjamin” now and unlike every one of his other roles that you know and love this one will feature Benjamin as a person rather than an animated figure. Seriously, even the guy’s IMDB photo is of Sterling Archer, I’m pretty sure I could be sitting three feet away from him and if he never spoke I’d be completely clueless. Maybe you love him best as the talking can of vegetables from Wet Hot American Summer. Maybe you love him the most in his brief role as Dr.Orpehus’s Master on “The Venture Brothers” (which YouTube has NO EVIDENCE OF which makes me incredibly sad). Then there’s the obvious favorite of Coach McGuirk from “Home Movies.”. Honestly, I think he’s a genius with his voice acting so I’m curious to see how he does live. Here’s the rest of your Monday night TV:
8:00pm: “America’s Got Talent” on NBC
“Cupcake Wars: Kentucky Derby” on Food Network. Third season premiere.
“Masterchef” on Fox
“Pretty Little Liars” on ABC Family. Second season premiere.
“Spouse vs. House” on TLC. First season finale.
9:00pm: “19 Kids and Counting” on TLC
“Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern” on Travel
“Braxton Family Values” on WE. First season finale
“Deadliest Catch” on Discovery
“Memphis Beat” on TNT. Second season premiere.
“The Nine Lives of Chloe King” on ABC Family. Series premiere. I saw a preview for this in front of some movie (Thor? I think) and I swear my friends and I thought it was a joke. Then one of them was like “so… she has the same power as Meg did in that one episode of ‘Family Guy?’ Her nails get really long?” which, as best I can tell, is exactly right. But hey, maybe today’s teens need a totally ridiculous sci-fi show that won’t age well. “The Secret World of Alex Mack”, anyone?
“Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy” on History
“The Voice” on NBC
“White Collar” on USA
10:00pm: “16 and Pregnant” on MTV
“Chopped” on Food Network
“Covert Affairs” on USA
“Gene Simmons Family Jewels” on A&E. Sixth season premiere. Apparently Mr.Simmons and his long time lady-friend Shannon Tweed are having some difficulties. This is… unsurprising, but I feel bad for their kids. It’s hard enough to watch your parents split up because your dad won’t get married and has the desire, means and opportunity to pass a lot of time with many attractive young ladies, but it’s got to be a million times worse when you know that everyone’s watching it on TV.
“Hawthorne” on TNT. Third season premiere.
“How the States Got Their Shapes” on History
“Independent Lens: Two Spirits” on PBS
“The Little Couple” on TLC
“Love Handles: Couples in Crisis” on Lifetime
“Love/Lust” on Sundance
“Million Dollar Decorators” on Bravo
“Tosh.0” on Comedy Central
“Toya: A Family Affair” on BET
10:30pm: “Jon Benjamin Has a Van” on Comedy Central. Series premiere.
