I was thinking about taking today off today for Memorial Day, but I’d already taken off yesterday and since I had nothing to do today except eat leftovers and nap, it seemed indulgent to not take 30 minutes to write up Pajiba After Dark. It’s not really a great day for television, there’s mostly a bunch of lame marathons going on and if you’re interested in that particular marathon you probably already know it’s happening. And I tip my hat to any of you who can stand an entire day of “Hoarders” episodes because that show kills souls. Misery Monday indeed. Here’s your TV:
8:00pm: “The Bachelorette” on ABC. Time slot premiere.
“NHL Stanley Cup Finals - Game #2” on NBC. Seriously? This is still going on? Tomorrow is June 1st. Get it together, hockey.
9:00pm: “America, the Story of Us” on History. New episode on a special night.
“The Best Thing I Ever Ate” on Food Network. Third season premiere.
“Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern” on Travel. One hour special presentation.
“Cake Boss” on TLC. One hour third season premiere.
“Hoarders” on A&E. One hour special presentation.
“Tough Love: Couples” on VH1. First season finale.
10:00pm: “America, The Story of Us” on History. First season finale, on a special night.
“Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern” on Travel
“Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It” on VH1. Special presentation.
“Cake Boss” on TLC
“Hoarders” on A&E. One hour special presentation. It’s a season 1 update, so I guess we’ll get to see what happened to people who were helped during the first season. My guess is that it’s at least half massively depressing, and half kind of happy.
“Nurse Jackie” on Showtime
“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” on Bravo
“Saving Grace” on TNT
“True Beauty” on ABC. Second season premiere. I’m pretty sure this is the show where they tell people it’s a beauty contest but then test them on their moral integrity. So you get to watch a bunch of vain and shallow people talk about how much better than other people they are, and then get rewarded for acting like decent human beings. I’m still not sure how that’s different from every other reality show on TV.
