HOW IS IT MAY?!? God, this spring is just whipping by for me and now my classes are all over and I’ve got to start thinking about packing and storage spaces and finding a place to live next year and it always sneaks up on me. Anyway, it also means we’re headed into the time of year when shows start ending, unless you’re a fan of “Friday Night Lights” like me and remember that it starts this Friday! Awesomely! Same day “Iron Man 2” comes out! So there’s a lot to look forward to this first week in May as long as you like the same things I do. And if you don’t, well, it’s my column. Here’s what’s on TV tonight:
7:00 p.m.: “60 Minutes” on CBS.
“America’s Funniest Home Videos” on ABC. I’d say something about how amazed I am that this is still going strong, but I’ve been an elementary school aged child and remember that this crap was like the funniest thing EVER back then. So while I doubt “America’s Funniest Home Videos” has what you’d call a loyal audience, as long as there are eight-year-olds in the world they’ve got a market.
“Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom” on Animal Planet.
“‘Til Death” on Fox.
8:00 p.m.:: “The Amazing Race” on CBS.
“How the Universe Works: Black Holes” on Discovery. One hour special presentation.
“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” on ABC.
“Minute to Win It” on NBC.
“The Simpsons” on Fox.
“Sunday Best” on BET.
“Seeing vs. Believing” on TLC. One hour special presentation.
8:30 p.m.: “The Cleveland Show” on Fox.
9:00 p.m.: “America: The Story of Us” on History.
“The Apprentice” on NBC.
“Brandy and Ray J: A Family Business” on VH1.
“Cold Case” on CBS. New episode at a special time.
“Desperate Housewives” on ABC.
“Family Guy” on Fox. One hour 150th episode. I know people make a big deal out of like, 100, 200, etc. are we doing the 50’s now too? Is this like that trend of celebrating six-month “anniversaries” which makes my brain itch? I really hope not.
“Holmes on Homes” on HGTV
“Into the Universe With Stephen Hawking: The Story of Everything” on Discovery. Two hour special presentation.
“Masterpiece!: Foyle’s War, Series VI: The Russian House” on PBS. Again, one day I will storm PBS and confiscate their supply of colons. It’ll happen.
“The Pacific” on HBO.
“The Tudors” on Showtime.
9:30 p.m.: “Gene Simmons Family Jewels” on A&E.
10:00 p.m.: “America, The Story of Us” on History.
“Army Wives” on Lifetime.
“Basketball Wives” on VH1.
“Breaking Bad” on AMC.
“Cold Case” on CBS. Seventh season finale.
“Hoarding: Buried Alive” on TLC. I’m a little appalled at just how many people that can find to be on these shows. And they haven’t even gotten to anyone I’m related to yet.
“Jerseylicious” on Style.
“Kendra” on E!
“Kirstie Alley’s Big Life” on A&E.
“Treme” on HBO.
“Brothers and Sisters” on ABC.
