Welcome to another Misery Night! The most apt moniker for Monday nights that I have heard in my life. Let’s face it, there’s very little to recommend Mondays; you know you’ve got the whole rest of the week to go, you’re probably groggy all day because you knocked your sleep cycle around a bit over the weekend, and that coworker/classmate you’re not fond of now has a story to share with you about their weekend. With that totally cheerful thought, here’s what’s on TV tonight:
8:00pm: “10 Things I Hate About You” on ABC Family
“Chuck” on NBC
“Dancing with the Stars” on ABC
“House” on Fox
“How I Met Your Mother” on CBS. I know it’s been said, but seriously? If my dad started out his story of how he met my mom with “You see, several years before we actually MET, all of these completely unrelated things happened! Let me regale you…” I’d find an excuse to leave the room pretty quickly. Not the question I asked, don’t care.
“Little People, Big World” on TLC
“One Tree Hill” on The CW
8:30pm: “Little People, Big World” on TLC
“Rules of Engagement” on CBS
9:00pm: “24” on Fox
“Gossip Girl” on The CW
“Intervention” on A&E
“PBS Special: Into the Deep: America, Whaling and the World: American Experience” on PBS. I’m sure there’s a way to simplify that title so that four separate punctuation marks are not required to get the message across, but I guess that’s why I don’t work at PBS.
“Tough Love: Couples”
“Two and a Half Men” on CBS. I know all of us are gleefully anticipating this show disappearing thanks to Charlie Sheen failing to maintain the impression that he can behave like a human being for an extended period of time, but I’m just a little worried that it will simply become “One and a Half Men”.
9:30pm: “The Big Bang Theory” on CBS
10:00pm: “Castle” on ABC
“CSI: Miami” on CBS
“Law and Order” on NBC
“Nurse Jackie” on Showtime
“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” on Bravo
“TLC Special: Chocolate Wars” on TLC. One hour special presentation.
“Undateable” on VH1. Series premiere.
10:30pm: “The United States of Tara” on Showtime
Late Night Listings
“The Late Show with David Letterman” on CBS featuring Evangeline Lilly, Sam Rockwell, “American Idol” castoff Aaron Kelly, and a performance from the Broadway cast of “Million Dollar Quartet”
“The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on NBC featuring Laura Bush, Donald Trump, and Limp Bizkit
“Jimmy Kimmel Live” on ABC featuring Don Cheadle, Geoff Stults, and Crash Kings
“The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” on CBS featuring Russell Crowe and Wilco
“Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on NBC featuring Kristen Wiig, Green Day, and Taj Mahal
“The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” on Comedy Central featuring Jack Rakove
“The Colbert Report” on Comedy Central featuring Gov. Gary Johnson
