I'm Not Especially Attentive Tonight

I had my last test of the semester today and I’m exhausted. I can’t decide if I want to take a nap and then go out tonight and celebrate or take a nap and then wake up, eat something, and fall right back asleep until sometime tomorrow afternoon. The nap, though, is definite. It’ll happen right after I finish eating this lunch of an avocado I put on top of some salad because it’s still not quite acceptable to cut an avocado in half, sprinkle on salt and pepper and eat it with a spoon. That kind of behavior is for weekends. Here’s your Thursday night TV:

8:00 p.m.: “Bones” on Fox.

“Community” on NBC.

“Flash Forward” on ABC.

“The Vampire Diaries” on The CW.

8:30 p.m.: “Parks and Recreation” on NBC.

9:00 p.m.: “CSI” on CBS.

“Fringe” on Fox.

“Grey’s Anatomy” on ABC.

“The Office” on NBC. Here’s where I begin to understand why television shows should maybe look into limiting the number of seasons they have. It’s not that I think the show has seen a precipitous drop in quality, or that the characters are unlikeable, but I’m just bored with “The Office” lately. There’s still almost always a few moments in every episode that I like, but it’s not exactly appointment TV any more and that makes me a little sad. Of course, I have the attention span of a particularly bright golden retriever so that’s not really saying SQUIRREL!

“Supernatural” on The CW.

9:30 p.m.: “30 Rock” on NBC.

10:00 p.m.: “Bullrun” on Speed. Third season finale.

“Celebrity Rehab Presents: Sober House” on VH1. Second season finale.

“LA Ink” on TLC. Third season finale.

“The Marriage Ref” on NBC.

“The Mentalist” on CBS.

“Private Practice” on ABC starting one minute after the hour. Now, I’ve seen all of maybe five minutes worth of this show, but from the version of Addison that comes back on “crossover” episodes with “Grey’s Anatomy” it seems like the woman lost half her brain when she moved to LA. Is that common? Or is it just something TV wants us to believe?

Late Night Listings:

“The Late Show With David Letterman” on CBS featuring Gwyneth Paltrow and the Broadway cast of “American Idiot.”

“The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” on NBC featuring Arnold Schwarzeneger, Sig Hansen, and Laura Bell Bundy.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” on ABC featuring Courtney Love, boxing rabbi Yuri Foreman, and Hole.

“The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson” on CBS featuring Tom Selleck and Lance Burton.

“Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” on NBC featuring Ed Burns, Jackie Earle Haley, and Paramore.

“Last Call With Carson Daly” on NBC featuring Gavin McInnes, Sia, and Holly Golightly.

“The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” on Comedy Central featuring Michael Caine.

“The Colbert Report” on Comedy Central featuring Abel Maldonado and OK Go.
