There’s a lot of fans here of Monday night’s A&E line up (also referred to as “Misery Night” for the fact that it focuses on addicts, hoarders, and people whose weight has caused them significant health problems) but tonight it’s just… way darker than usual. We’ve got an investigation into Oxycotin abuse and the new “Relapse” show which shows what happens when things like “Intervention” don’t stick. Does not sound like good times to me, but there’s only so much actual misery I can take before I curl up into a ball on my sofa and start whimpering. For those few of you out there who are emotional masochists and will be watching, I salute you. Here’s your Monday night TV:
8:00pm: “Antiques Roadshow” on PBS
“Chuck” on NBC
“Dancing With the Stars” on ABC
“House” on Fox. 150th episode.
“How I Met Your Mother” on CBS
“Intervention In-Depth: Hillbilly Heroin” on A&E
“Love & Hip Hop” on VH1
“The Secret Life of the American Teenager” on ABC Family
“WWE Tough Enough” on USA. The WWE has gotten in on the reality series game, which is sort of redundant because the WWE was basically the prototype for reality series. Sure, everything is “live” but there’s also clearly story lines, characters, forced confrontations, and so forth and so on except there’s far less of a chance someone will get a ladder dropped on them on “Jersey Shore.” And more’s the pity.
8:30pm: “Beverly HIlls Fabulous” on VH1
“Mad Love” on CBS
9:00pm: “American Pickers” on History
“Anthony Bourdain” on Travel. Mr.Bourdain is headed to Brazil so I’m extremely jealous of him this week.
“The Bad Girls Club” on Oxygen. 100th episode.
“Being Human” on SyFy. First season finale.
“Cake Boss” on TLC
“The Chicago Code” on Fox
“Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” on Food Network. 11th season finale.
“Kidnapped by the Kids” on OWN
“Law and Order: Los Angeles” on NBC. Two hour first season spring premiere. This is what Alfred Molina is up to these days. Just so you know.
“Make It or Break It” on ABC Family
“Mike & Molly” on CBS
“Great Famine: American Experience” on PBS
“Relapse” on A&E
“RuPaul’s Drag Race” on Logo
“WWE: Raw” on USA
10:00pm: “All About Aubrey” on Oxygen. First season finale.
“Bethenny Ever After” on Bravo
“The Hard Times of RJ Berger” on MTV
“Hawaii Five-0” on CBS
“Kate Plus 8” on TLC
“The NewNowNext Awards” on Logo
“Meat & Potatoes” on Food Network
“Nurse Jackie” on Showtime
“Paranormal State” on A&E. Sixth season premiere.
“Pawn Star$” on History
“Rediscovering Alexander Hamilton” on PBS. Remember that milk commercial from forever ago where a dude takes a big bite of a peanut butter sandwich and then hears a radio announcer ask who killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel and the guy looks all around his house and there’s all these pictures and memorabilia from the duel and he tries to call in but his mouth is stuck together so he can’t say “Aaron Burr?” Because that’s what I think of every time I see either of their names.
“Searching For…” on OWN
“Southern Fried Stings” on TruTV
“Stargate Universe” on SyFy
“Castle” on ABC
10:20pm: “James May’s Road Trip” on BBCA
10:30pm: “Paranormal State” on A&E
“Pawn Star$” on History
“Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory” on MTV
“The United States of Tara” on Showtime
