Television Becomes a Little Less Fabulous

Today is the end of my Spring Break, as I will be flying back to Miami today and I start classes again on Tuesday. I haven’t really had a “traditional” spring break in the sense that I’m not flying back hung over, bloated, and severely sunburned, but it was fun. And despite the week long respite from classes, I somehow have a To-Do list for this week that totals 19 items so far. How does that happen? But one of those items is this column and another is packing to go back to Miami so now that I’ve checked off the first I’m gonna go check off the second. Here’s your Monday night TV:

8:00pm: “Chuck” on NBC

“Dancing With the Stars” on ABC. Tenth season premiere. I honestly don’t understand this show. If you’re going to spend the time to watch people ballroom dancing, wouldn’t you want to watch it done by actual professionals rather than people who just happen to be “famous”? And the couple times I watched it, you don’t even see a lot of dancing. There’s like, a minute of dancing that’s prefaced by five minutes of footage of the pair practicing the dance and then followed by five minutes of crazy people who may or may not be the judges talking about how they danced. Bizarre.

“How I Met Your Mother” on CBS

“The International Sexy Ladies Show” on G4. I know none of you watch this but I can’t resist mentioning it when I see it on the listings. The title is simply too ridiculous.

“Life Unexpected” on The CW

“The Secret Life of the American Teenager” on ABC Family. Second season finale.

“Top Gear” on BBCA with Michael Sheen

8:30pm: “Rules of Engagement” on CBS

9:00pm: “24” on Fox

“Celebrity Fit Club” on VH1

“Gossip Girl” on The CW

“Operation Repo” on TruTV

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” on Logo

“Trauma” on NBC

“Two and a Half Men” on CBS

9:30pm: “The Big Bang Theory” on CBS

10:00pm: “Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations” on Travel. This week, he goes to Provence. Isn’t that kind of cheating? We already know the food will be excellent.

“Castle” on ABC

“CSI: Miami” on CBS

“Damages” on FX

“Greek” on ABC Family

“Kell on Earth” on Bravo

“Law and Order” on NBC

“Nurse Jackie” on Showtime. Second season premiere.

“The Price of Beauty” on VH1. Jessica goes to Paris in this episode, which is good news for those of you worried how Ms.Simpson might affect USA’s cultural relations with other countries. Parisians think we’re all idiots anyway.

“RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked” on Logo

10:30pm: “Be Good Johnny Weir” on Sundance. First season finale. So this show is now ending it’s first season and I STILL can’t reserve the DVDs on Netflix. Seriously, Sundance, get on that. Hell, I’ll even buy the DVDs. I love me some Johnny Weir.

“United States of Tara” on Showtime. Second season premiere.
