Some of you may have noticed that Pajiba After Dark is showing up earlier. Or not, whatever, Pajiba After Dark doesn’t need your attention to feel good about itself because Pajiba After Dark is beautiful no matter what you say. If you haven’t, I’m letting you know so you can have the opportunity to better plan your evening’s television watching and/or Intern bashing for those of you who are into that sort of thing. Here’s your Thursday night TV:
8:00pm: “American Idol” on Fox. Someone gave me a bit of shit last night for my comment that I never feel more disconnected from the average American as I do when this show is airing. To be clear, I didn’t mean this as any kind of judgement on relative levels of intellect, but that I’m bewildered as to why people have been so consistently captivated by what is basically a glorified open mic night. Especially since it’s been proven that winning the show is no guarantee of success. But hey, “The Bachelor” is still on the air and how many of those marriages worked out?
“The Big Bang Theory” on CBS
“Community” on NBC
“The Vampire Diaries” on The CW
“Wipeout: Winter Wipeout” on ABC
8:30pm: “Twaddle My Dad Says” on CBS. First season finale.
“Perfect Couples” on NBC
9:00pm: “Bones” on Fox
“CSI: Morpheus is Pretty Lame Now, Right?” on CBS
“The First 48” on A&E
“The Battle for Marjah” on HBO
“Man vs. Wild” on Discovery. Sixth season premiere. Welcome back, Bear Grylls! I’ve missed you and your almost comically manly name. Although he’s in those deodorant commercials with… I want to say Jim Gaffigan? So it wasn’t quite that he was gone as he was just not around as usual, when he has two or three shows running at the same time.
“Million Dollar Listing” on Bravo
“Nikita” on The CW
“The Office” on NBC
“Police Women of Cincinnati” on TLC
“Royal Pains” on USA
9:30pm: “Parks and Recreation” on NBC
10:00pm: “30 Rock” on NBC
“Archer” on FX. The love I have for this show is probably illegal in certain states.
“Fairly Legal” on USA
“Jersey Shore” on MTV
“The Mentalist” on CBS
“Out of the Wild” on Discovery. Second season premiere.
“Private Practice” on ABC
Late Night Listings
“The Late Show with David Letterman” on CBS featuring Paris Hilton, Nathan Fillion, and the Scissor Sisters. Wow, that line up is pretty heavily front-loaded with suck and back-loaded with awesome. Like a roller coaster. That ends with Jake Shears in a thong (I’m guessing, based on his typical stage wear).
“The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on NBC featuring Jenna Fischer, Abigail Breslin, and Miguel
“Jimmy Kimmel Live” on ABC featuring Jason Sudeikis, Black Griffin, and Keri Hilson
“The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” on CBS featuring Sarah Chalke and Louie Anderson
“Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on NBC featuring William H. Macy, Michael Showalter, and Dan St.Germain
“Last Call with Carson Daly” on NBC featuring David O. Russell, Bouncing Cats, and Two Door Cinema Club
“The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” on Comedy Central featuring Ed Gillespie
“The Colbert Report” on Comedy Central featuring Jeffrey Leonard
“Chelsea Lately” on E featuring Animal wrangler Donald Schultz, Josh Wolf, Jen Kirkman, and Joe Matarese
“Conan” on TBS featuring Martin Short, Chris Bosh, and Nicole Atkins
