We’re about a week into the new year, so if I were to use an extended metaphor comparing the New Year to a new relationship (and I am), this would be about the point when you’d notice that while the New Year currently seems fun an interesting, it also seems to have quite a bit in common with the Old Year. However, you’ll brush that uncomfortable observation aside for now, telling yourself that you’re only imagining things or maybe that every year has “The Jersey Shore” and you just never noticed it before. Or that people just didn’t talk about suspiciously large die-offs of animals previously. I hope you’re right, imaginary person courting 2011, and that there are only good things in the future. Now that I’ve thoroughly unsettled you, here’s your Thursday night TV:
8:00pm: “The Big Bang Theory” on CBS
“Million Dollar Money Drop” on Fox
“Wipeout: Winter Wipeout” on ABC. Fourth season premiere.
8:30pm: “Bleep My Dad Says” on CBS. Every time I see this show I’m baffled by the concept of producing a show whose title you can’t say on air. Seriously?
9:00pm: “CSI: OG” on CBS
“The First 48” on A&E
“Grey’s Anatomy” on ABC
“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” on Bravo
10:00pm: “Ace of Cakes” on Food Network. 10th season premiere.
“Brad Meltzer’s Decoded” on History. Mostly unrelated: I’ve actually met Mr.Meltzer. When I was a freshman at University back whenever ago, our dorm activities board organized a book club and First Counsel by Mr.Meltzer was one of the books we read, and then he came to talk to us about it. Our faculty advisor told us he’d be coming AFTER we discussed the book, so I’d already aired my comments about how I felt certain characters or interactions were stilted at best and then had to ask him about it because kids in book clubs are bullies like that. He seemed like a nice man, wasn’t a fan of the book though.
“Forensic Factor” on Science. Series premiere. Hopping on that hot forensic trend all the kids are texting about these days, are you Science channel? Good for you.
“Jersey Shore: Back to the Shore” on MTV. Second season winter premiere.
