Goodbye, Fish Lips!
How is it December already? It takes me by surprise every year somehow, even though it happens right after Thanksgiving just like always. I think part of the problem is that I grew up somewhere that got colder as the year went on and right now it’s still sunny and warm enough that I’m walking around in a tee shirt. Not that I’m complaining, I’d far rather have the tee shirt weather than the waking up half an hour early to chip ice off my car while my feet go numb weather, but it’s something I never seem to get used to. Anyway, it’s Tuesday night so y’all know what that means television wise, although there are some marginally interesting offerings tonight. Onward!:
8:00 p.m.: “90210” on The CW.
“Presidential Address” on ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC. I understand that it’s supposed to be addressing the war in Afghanistan. Has any foreign combatant ever won in Afghanistan? The British and Soviets both lost and they were major military powers at the time. I’m genuinely curious, can any of you Pajibans point me to a conflict in Afghanistan in which the outside army prevailed?
8:30 p.m.”So You Think You Can Dance” on Fox.
9:00 p.m.: “The Biggest Loser” on NBC.
“Dirty Jobs” on Discovery. This week is Reindeer Farm. I’m predicting high levels of reindeer excrement will be involved, because that’s just how Mike Rowe rolls.
“I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant” on Health.
“Melrose Place” on The CW.
“Sinatra at Carnegie Hall” on PBS.
“Scrubs” on ABC. 9th season premiere, which is apparently going in a very different direction which will be phasing out Zach Braff. Those of you who are aware of my feelings on Zach Braff know that I feel this can only improve the show, even though I don’t watch it regularly.
“Love in a Time of HIV” on Showtime.
9:30 p.m.: “Scrubs” on ABC.
10:00 p.m.: “The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show” on CBS.
“The Forgotten” on ABC.
“The Hills” on MTV. 5th season finale. And look, I don’t go in for the “the world is going dumb!” histrionics some people bust out when it comes to pop culture, but this show has been on two seasons longer than “Veronica Mars”. That just makes me sad.
“Sons of Anarchy” on FX. It’s the second-season finale, and it’s going 90 minutes for those of you who may need to adjust DVRs.
