Maybe They Should Call It "Moving Target"

Its Wednesday, which means that there’s only another three months until we can watch “Glee” again! TV scheduling is pushing me further and further towards being one of those people who will only watch a show once it’s on DVD and finished, so I don’t have to put up with executives playing games with the scheduling or introducing shameless ploys to extend a plot that should be dead. And as much as I love that show, I am looking pointedly in the direction of “Battlestar Galactica” and that network it was on with the dumbass name. Oh, and the whole mess with “Friday Night Lights” being on a satellite customer-only channel. The best news I’ve heard out of the Leno/Conan debacle is that moving Leno back will create an easy opening to drop “Friday Night Lights” into, so it may end up moving back to NBC prime time. I’m not getting my hopes up though, as the whole Leno/Conan debacle showed all of us just how far we can trust NBC executives. Anyway, here’s what’s on television tonight:

8:00 p.m.: “American Idol: Orlando Auditions” on Fox. There is a whole lot of crazy in Florida, so this might actually be pretty amusing. Or frightening. Also, if I had a car I would so be planning to go to Orlando this weekend to meet the other Pajibans there, but I don’t so I can’t. Boo!

“Mercy” on NBC.

“The New Adventures of Old Christine” on CBS.

8:30 p.m.: “Gary Unmarried” on CBS.

9:00 p.m.: “Criminal Minds” on CBS.

“Human Target” on Fox. New episode at a special time, because the best way to build a stable audience is to keep changing when the show is on. Good work, Fox!

“Man vs. Wild” on Discovery.

“Modern Family” on ABC.

“Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns” on TBS. I know people get all annoyed that I keep mentioning Tyler Perry’s shows, but the man is one of the most consistently successful directors working in Hollywood, like it or not. What I wonder is why his shows aren’t on network TV, like fellow wildly successful but artistically questionable director Jerry Bruckheimer. But I’m sure there’s an excellent reason why Tyler Perry’s shows end up TBS rather than CBS or even Fox.

9:30 p.m.: “Cougar Town” on ABC.

“Dog the Bounty Hunter” on A&E.

“Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns” on TBS.

10:00 p.m.: “1000 Ways to Die” on Spike TV.

“CSI: NY” on CBS.

“The Jay Leno Show” on NBC.

“Launch My Line” on Bravo.

“Leverage” on TNT.

“Nip/Tuck” on FX.

“The Real World” on MTV.

“Solving History with Olly Steeds” on Discovery.

“Spectacle: Elvis Costello With…” on Sundance.

“Steven Seagal: Lawman” on A&E. I know what at least one Pajibette’s going to be watching tonight for damn sure. *Looks in direction of Snuggiepants.*

“Toddlers and Tiaras” on TLC. Third season premiere. In case you needed a booster shot for your homicidal rage.

“Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns” on TBS.

“Ugly Betty” on ABC.
