"Yeah, I'm Pretty Awesome"
I’ve spent most of my Sunday watching terrible, holiday related movies on TV. I know there are some good holiday movies, but more frequently they’re terrible treacly messes that I can’t. Stop. Watching. for some reason I can’t pinpoint. They don’t warm my heart, they don’t make me want to be a better person, they actually sort of give me a bit of a headache but it’s Sunday afternoon and I’m putting off packing for my trip home for Thanksgiving and cleaning my apartment before same. Anyone else have other good avoidance strategies they’d like to share? Here’s your Sunday night TV:
7:00pm: “60 Minutes” on CBS
“America’s Funniest Home Videos” on ABC
“Football Night in America” on NBC
8:00pm: “19 Kids and Counting” on TLC
“2010 American Music Awards” on ABC. Apparently there’s a Backstreet Boys/New Kids on the Block performance that’s supposed to be exciting to… someone? Honestly, I looked through the whole line up of performers and each person makes it less clear who the target audience for this show is.
“The Amazing Race” on CBS
“Jerseylicious” on Style
“Nature: Revealing the Leopard” on PBS
“Sandra Brown’s Smoke Screen” on Lifetime Movie Network
“The Simpsons” on Fox
8:15pm: “Sunday Night Football: New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles” on NBC
8:30pm: “The Cleveland Show” on Fox
9:00pm: “Boardwalk Empire” on HBO
“Dexter” on Showtime
“Dirty Jobs” on Discovery
“E! True Hollywood Story: Adam Lambert” on E. Already? What’s there to tell? “Well, I didn’t win ‘American Idol’ and then I was all ‘screw you America, I’mma be as gay as I want to be’ and that seemed to work out pretty well.”
“Family Guy” on Fox
“Fantasia for Real” on VH1
“IRT: Deadliest Roads” on History
“Masterpiece! Lennon Naked” on PBS
“The Next Iron Chef” on Food Network. Third season finale.
“Paranormal State” on A&E
“Sarah Palin’s Alaska” on TLC. For the record, it took two episodes for them to make the ‘Just for the Halibut’ joke in the name of the episode. NOTE: I am not in any way commenting on Sarah Palin as a person, her political inclinations, or my opinion of her as a person. This is merely meant to be me relating a bad fish pun to the readership which I thought was somewhat inevitable. Simmer yourselves down.
“Undercover Boss” on CBS
9:30pm: “American Dad” on Fox
“Football Wives” on Vh1
“Paranormal State” on A&E
10:00pm: “Brew Masters” on Discovery. Series premiere. Hooray, beer!
“CSI: Miami” on CBS
“Futurama: Futurama Holiday Spectacular” on Comedy Central.
“Iron Chef America” on Food Network
“Jilted?” on WE. Series premiere.
“Kendra” on E
“Luther” on BBCA. First season finale.
“Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal” on A&E
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” on Bravo
“Sister Wives” on TLC
“Top Gear” on History. Series premiere. American version. Because that always works out so well.
“Walking Dead” on AMC
10:30pm: “Jilted” on WE
“Married to Rock” on E
11:30pm: “The Venture Brothers” on Adult Swim. One hour fourth season finale. I’m very excited for this and also very sad, as I am at the end of every season.
