Take It On The Other Side
I’ve been writing about, and mocking, TV for a little over a year now and the tables may be turned tonight. I’m going to be a judge on the University of Miami’s version of “American Idol” and I’m not exactly sure how it will go. I’ve never actually sat down and watched a full episode of “American Idol” so while I’m familiar with the concept, I don’t know if I’ll be able to live up to whatever expectations the audience will have. I’ve been led to believe that it will be available streaming next week after it’s been edited and made to look less like something produced by college students. Let me know if you’re interested in getting the link and I’ll try to make that available next Monday. Here’s all the television on tonight that doesn’t feature me:
8:00pm: “90210” on The CW
“Chuck” on NBC
“Dancing With the Stars” on ABC
“Giuliana and Bill” on Style
“How I Met Your Mother” on CBS. The only character worthy of a Halloween costume on this show is Barney, and even then you’ll mostly just look like a dude in a suit. Sitcoms don’t really offer good costume possibilities.
“Little People, Big World” on TLC
8:30pm: “Monday Night Football: New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys” on ESPN
“Rules of Engagement” on CBS
9:00pm: “American Restoration” on History
“The Best Thing I Ever Ate” on Food Network
“Cake Boss” on TLC
“Dr.G: Medical Examiner” on Health
“The Event” on NBC
“Gossip Girl” on The CW
“In Treatment” on HBO. Third season premiere.
“Lie to Me” on Fox
“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” on Bravo. I don’t watch any of these reality shows so I’m sure I’m going to miss out on the joke of many many Halloween costumes this year. I’m not particularly upset about this.
“Scare Tactics” on SyFy
“Top Gear” on BBCA featuring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. I suspect this was originally shot to promote that movie from the summer that I can’t remember the title of. Oh well.
“Two and a Half Men” on CBS
“WWE: RAW” on USA
9:30pm: “In Treatment” on HBO
“Mike and Molly” on CBS
10:00pm: “The A-List” on Logo
“Bret Michaels: Life as I Know It” on VH1
“Chase” on NBC
“Diners Drive-ins, and Dives” on Food Network
“Hawaii Five-0” on CBS
“Hoarders” on A&E. You could just stick a bunch of old magazine and some stuffed cats on yourself and be a “hoard.” I’d say go as an actual hoarder but apparently that takes a certain amount of crapping in diapers and not throwing them out and I don’t really wish that on anyone.
“Pawn Star$” on History
“Southern Fried Stings” on TruTV
“Thintervention with Jackie Warner” on Bravo. First season finale.
“Weeds” on Showtime
“The World of Jenks” on MTV
“Castle” on ABC
10:30pm: “The Big C” on Showtime
“The Buried Life” on MTV
“Pawn Star$” on History
Late Night Listings
“The Late Show with David Letterman” on CBS featuring Charles Barkley, Garry Dell’Abate, and Kings of Leon
“The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on NBC featuring Matt Lauer, Martha Stewart, and Lauren Pritchard
“Jimmy Kimmel Live” on ABC featuring Dr.Mehmet Oz, Mike Birbiglia, and K’naan
“The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” on CBS featuring Condoleezza Rice and Joe Theismann
“Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on NBC featuring Molly Shannon, Paul Scheer, and Norah Jones
“The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” on Comedy Central featuring Austan Goolsbee
“The Colbert Report” on Comedy Central featuring Nicholas Negroponte
“Chelsea Lately” on E! featuring Julian McMahon, Arden Myrin, Ross Mathews, and Jo Koy
