L’Wren Scott, Costume Designer on 'Eyes Wide Shut' and Girlfriend of Mick Jagger, Found Dead of Apparent Suicide

L’Wren Scott, 49, a former model who would go on to become a stylist in collaboration with the likes of Herb Ritts, Helmut Newton, Karl Lagerfeld and Mario Sorrenti, was found dead in her New York apartment this morning. Scott, who was also the girlfriend of rock singer Mick Jagger, was found by her assistance in her apartment hanging from a scarf tied to a doorknob, according to the Associated Press. No foul play was suspected, nor was a suicide note left.

Scott more recently is better known as an acclaimed fashion designer. Celebreties who have worn her gowns to the Academy Awards include Sarah Jessica Parker, Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Penélope Cruz and Amy Adams. Other clients of hers included Michelle Obama, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, Naomi Campbell, Reese Witherspoon, Christina Hendricks, Jennifer Lopez, Sandra Bullock and Uma Thurman. Scott was also a costume designer on Ocean’s Thirteen and Eyes Wide Shut.

Scott had been in linked romantically with Mick Jagger since 2001. A spokesperson for Jagger said he is “completely shocked and devastated” by the news.
