I don’t mean Pants on the Ground.

I don’t mean William Hung.

I don’t even mean Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood or the ability to hatewatch Smash by giving us Katharine McPhee.

I mean Adore Delano.

You may remember contestant Danny Noriega. If not from Idol, then definitely from The Soup.

Danny was most notable for a sassy ‘tude and the shinest mop around. I’ll let him describe:

Danny did not become season seven’s American Idol. But he did come very close to being America’s Next Drag Superstar.

Don’t be shocked! Yes, precious baby Danny Noriega now performs as Adore Delano and was runner up in season six of RuPaul’s Drag Race, losing to Bianca del Rio because come on.

And now Adore Delano is among the most successful drag performers in the world and a huge Drag Race fan favorite.

Sorry you didn’t see greatness when you had it right in front of you, Simon.

Today, many of us are in fact LIKIN’ IT.

Thanks for the wonderful gift, Idol!
