July 5th is not only Fireworks Debris That People On My Block Won’t Pick Up, What Are We, Animals? Day—it’s also Bikini Day, a fact that Google has tragically slept on by deciding to design their logo after some stupid science-ass thing instead. What are we, eggheads? It’s Bikini Day. Let’s pay tribute.

And here’s its flag. Wikipedia tells us that the design so closely resembles that of the United States to reflect “the islanders’ belief that a great debt is still owed by the United States to the people of Bikini because in 1954 the United States government detonated the Castle Bravo hydrogen bomb on the island, poisoning islanders and others with nuclear fallout.” Bikini Day is a day for education!

Here’s a Bikini Day jammer:

Vintage!

Here’s a fully covered female diver exploring the wreckage of the USS Saratoga. She is practically garbed, as should be the case on Bikini Day!

Happy Bikini Day to you and yours!
