What is happening? This is another one of those occasions you have to wonder whether a dude is overtly being as obnoxious as he can, or he’s just plain stupid.
“Zoe” (as she had done before) was working to arrange a Vegas bachelorette party for a group of 15 women, and in her experience, often times clubs would comp a group in some way. This time, she contacted a promoter for the MGM Grand’s Hakkasan — a hip club where the bride wanted to have the gathering. According to Zoe, comping and other sorts of gestures are commonplace:
“In the past, clubs/promoters/hosts have tended to go out of their way to provide a great experience for the bride, and the group, and occasionally throw in a few extras to make the evening special. This is why I asked if it was possible to get a comped table.”
But when she contacted the Hakkasan’s promoter, Zoe was shocked by the moronic statements and the repeated requests for photos of all 15 of the women who would be attending the bachelorette party, because “We’re not gonna give comped tables…to random girls, then the club would be filled with hippos. That’s not what Hakkasan is about.” Yeah, you read that right. As the text conversation continues, Zoe deals with this fuckwad politely, responding with due incredulity and humor…even when he notes that “Girls from Massachusetts don’t go to the gym, so it’s going to be hard for the girls to be all 9-10s.”
“Peter” backed up his claims that a group photo is required for Hakkasan comps, which is despicable enough (though probably the Vegas norm) on its own, but the completely douchey, entitled and stupid way this promoter handled Zoe’s request is unfrigginbelievable. I really hope Zoe’s story gets out, and maybe by some miracle, Peter reaps the firing he deserves.
