Mindy Kaling has mentioned on occasion that she initially wanted the opening title sequence of The Mindy Project to be animated. Yesterday she posted to Instagram some of the concept art by artist Henry John, and they fit with the show pretty perfectly.

I mean, Mindy Lahiri herself is so klutzy and bubbly, she’s basically a character from a cartoon romcom. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is how the world looked inside her brain, like Abed in the stop motion episode of Community. Mindy (the real one, not the fictional one) also included a link to some other images. What I wouldn’t give for that perfect porcelain cartoon bathtub. Especially since in the animated world all tubs are self-cleaning.
