Retweeted over 70,000 times, and liked nearly 100,000 times, many of you may have already seen the new Denny’s ad, which the company tweeted out yesterday. If not, take a look:

Looks fairly generic, right? Pancakes, syrup, and way too much butter. However, if you’re able to pinch and zoom on your phone, you’ll find there are, uh, subliminal-ish messages. Here’s the enlarged screengrabs, via Adweek:
Uh, OK. Lower Left corner, lower right corner, right corner, butter. I didn’t see anything. What’s going on here?
“has this distracted you from overwhelming existential dread lol.”
Ha!
I think the marketing message here is clear: We’re all going to die, and we’re just waiting out our final days, so why not have a Moons over My Hammy? Who gives a shit about our waistline at this point? In fact, cigarettes should also come with a new warning label: “Fuck it. You’re going to die long before these cigarettes can kill you. Smoke up!”
