Hey Spring,
I know it’s been a while since we’ve seen each other. So maybe it feels abrupt or even unfair for me to reach out to you this way. I don’t know what the past year has been like for you, but based on how you’re behaving, I’m assuming things have been rough.
Look, I get it. There’s a lot of shitty news out there, not just the onslaught of Trump travesties, but also, did you hear Netflix canceled Everything Sucks? Sorry. That’s not helpful. What I’m trying to say, is I totally relate to feeling down, dispirited and thereby unmotivated. Times like this, we just want to cozy under some blankets and grumble, right? But spring, making us shiver under blankets and button up our winter coats, that’s not for you.
Baby, you’re about sunshine and rain, not grey skies and snow. You’re about giving us that boost of daylight to get us looking ahead, whether that means starting an herb garden, taking in the daffodils blooming, or rejoicing that we can finally shift into lightweight jackets and back into flirty skirts!
We know you’re moody, and we totally accept that some days you’re going to need to rain. We’ve got our umbrellas at the ready. But Spring, enough of this snow. Enough of this cold. This isn’t who you are. And we love who you are—I mean less so your whole OBSESSION with fucking with our allergies—but don’t let this dark timeline turn you into somebody else like that cold bitch, Winter.
Basically—and I say this with love—get it together, Spring. We’ve all been through it. And we need some goddamn sunshine. We’re depending on you.
