I don’t know what it’s like around the rest of the country, but if it’s 92 degrees in Maine, I can only imagine how much worse it is everywhere else, although here in much of New England, residential A/C is not really a thing, and not really worth it because it reaches 90 degrees only two or three times a year, tops.
I’m currently camped out in a coffee shop this morning, and once I wear out my welcome, my plan is to work from inside my car, because my house feels like an armpit. It’s oppressive and triggering as hell for a kid who grew up in the South without A/C, where I spent long summer days on a ripped fake leather couch with the volume on the TV turned to BLARE so I could hear it over the fan blowing hot air in my face.
I came to Maine to escape that, goddamnit!
Anyway, for those of you in a similar situation today, I don’t know how much this will help, but hopefully these images will give you the illusion of relief.
