With Mad Men Over, A New Series to Fill the 1960s Design Hole on TV
Astronaut Wives Club on ABC at 8:00pm ET. Series premiere. I swear, all the commercials for this make it look like they still had a bunch of sets and costumes from that Pan Am show lying around and just wrote a new series set in the same time period so they could get some more use out of them.
Inside the Actor’s Studio on Bravo at 8:00pm ET. Tonight’s guest in the Actor’s Studio is Jim Parsons. I’m torn on this one, because I actually thought that he was really good in The Normal Heart and did a great job with a very low-key part in a movie full of big dramatic, prop-hurling monologues. Then again, it’s also the only time I’ve seen him play someone who wasn’t Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory, and at this point doing that character is probably more of a reflex than actual acting.
Complications on USA at 9:00pm ET. Two hour series premiere. Hey! A new series about a doctor who engages in criminal activity! We’ve never seen that before! But this one also has a sexy slightly crazy unpredictable nurse friend! So exciting!
Alone on History at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. Survival series. Les Stroud is definitely throwing a side-eye in their direction right now.
Hannibal on NBC at 10:00pm ET.
Genevieve Burgess doesn’t know any criminally inclined doctors, just ones prone to pulling out their grossest stories over dinner.
