American Ninja Warrior on NBC at 8:00pm ET.
So You Think You Can Dance on Fox at 8:00pm ET. I’d complain more about us getting into the part of summer with all the reality shows and competition series, but I started my rewatch of Game of Thrones season six, so I’m good.
Preacher on AMC at 9:00pm ET.
Will on TNT at 9:00pm ET. Series premiere. All the advertising for this seems to focus a lot on “Hey, look, William Shakespeare as a sexy young man with lots of hair and open shirts and not a balding middle-aged dude in a lace collar! Wild, right?” Like every attempt to rebrand Shakespeare, it seems to rely a lot on making him personally cool through a great many historical inaccuracies instead of getting to the point that yes, the language takes some work to develop an ear for, but it’s worthwhile work for the wordplay and literary content. Anyway, there are two episodes tonight. Lots of time to gawk at hot young Shakespeare and get a good head of rage up at all the ways they’re screwing up 16th century London.
Sweet Home Oklahoma on Bravo at 10:00pm ET. Do the producers of this know there’s a song with “Oklahoma” actually in the title? A whole musical, in fact?
