The Night Of on HBO at 9:00pm ET. For those of us who watched the first episode as a preview online, it seems like we’ve been waiting forever to see the next installment. And it’s finally here! Lets see what all that glorious (yet, oddly neat) setting up gets us.

Preacher on AMC at 9:00pm ET.

Ballers on HBO at 10:00pm ET. Second season premiere. Ah, another season of “rich people problems.” I have a theory that this is the spiritual successor to Downton Abbey due to that central theme. Obviously, The Rock is Lady Mary, but kind of a mirror world version where instead of wondering why so many people are tripping over themselves to get at a woman clearly filled to the brim with passive aggressive rage, it’s hard to understand why people on Ballers don’t just do whatever The Rock says. Look at him! How could you not?

Motive on USA at 10:00pm ET. Saw a couple episodes of this recently and wasn’t impressed, but Kristin Lehman who plays the lead looks so much like Courtney Love I was wondering if she was making a quiet comeback at first.

Vice Principals on HBO at 10:30pm ET. Series premiere. HBO’s new comedy series from Danny McBride and Jody Hill starring McBride and Walton Goggins. It’s a true limited series though: 18 episodes spread over two seasons and they’re out. So if you want in, get in.
