Fashion Police: The 2017 Academy Awards on E! at 8:00pm ET. Special presentation. I just thought most of the fashion was kind of boring this year. I don’t know how much of that is fear of these shows, and how much is just the PRESTIGE overwhelming people’s sense of whimsy and daring. BUT! Janelle Monae brought it, and every time I saw her it was a total delight.

When We Rise on ABC at 9:00pm ET. Two-hour series premiere. This eight-hour series covers the history of the gay rights movement starting with the Stonewall riots. It’s got one hell of a cast including, but not limited to, Mr. Michael K. Williams up there.

Jane the Virgin on The CW at 9:00pm ET.

Tickled on HBO at 10:00pm ET.

Taken on NBC at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. Oh good, the movie series that won’t go away is now a TV series that will also somehow never go away. Even better, this is about a YOUNGER VERSION of Liam Neeson’s character from the movies, so everyone who was like, “Why does this guy keep letting his family get taken if he’s got such special skills?” was totally right. Maybe he even likes it.
