Abby’s Studio Rescue on Lifetime at 9:00pm ET. Series premiere. A new series in which Abby of the Dance Moms series goes around “rescuing” flailing dance studios.

I Am Steve McQueen on Spike TV at 9:00pm ET. 90 minute special presentation. Because this is a thing that needs clarification now, this refers to the actor Steve McQueen rather than the British director. It’s a documentary celebrating the actor and his life, with anecdotes and behind the scenes footage from his films.

Covert Affairs on USA at 10:00pm ET. Fifth season premiere.

Sullivan and Son on TBS at 10:00pm ET. There are some shows that I suspect maintain their ratings only because Nielsen families fall asleep with the TV still on. This is one of those shows. However, I recognize the isolating effect the internet can have on the perceived popularity of shows, so any viewers of Sullivan and Son are welcome to weigh in and tell me how wrong I am.

Tyrant on FX at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. A new series in which the son of a dictator returns home after years in America. Early murmurings seem to be promising.

Genevieve Burgess tries to be aware of her media bubble, though it can be hard at times.
