Well, It's Nice to See Something Set in St.Louis at Least

Black Box on ABC at 8:00pm ET

Defiance on SyFy at 8:00pm ET. I had thought about giving this show a shot, but the explanation of the background to the story that I read completely turned me off. it’s here if you’re curious under “setting” which seems to imply that the first episode has to get a new viewer up to speed with 30 years worth of fictional history for anything to make sense. This does not sound particularly relaxing or entertaining, but I’m willing to hear otherwise. Also, “Pale Wars” just sounds ridiculous to me. Not even in a “Eh, it’s sci-fi” kind of way but in a “someone needs to fire the writer who came up with that” kind of way.

Hey Bartender on Showtime at 8:25pm ET. This is a documentary about the comeback of the cocktail. I don’t want to watch so much as I just want the tie-in recipe guide.

Rectify on Sundance at 9:00pm ET.

Kate Plus 8: Update With the 8 on TLC at 10:00pm ET. Special presentation. While I feel sad for these kids that they still have to be paraded out like circus freaks to help fund their existence, part of me likes that the reality of raising 8 kids is still on display. Everyone always goes on about how hard it must be to take care of 8 babies with the feeding and diapers and all, but babies (for a while) basically stay where you put them and most of them end up pretty cute from around 3 months to about 2 years. Past that it can get dicey. What scares me is the thought of trying to feed, clothe, and keep tabs on 8 growing teenagers who are experiencing the worst effects of hormone poisoning AT THE SAME TIME. I feel like I should send Kate Gosselin brochures for boarding schools for whatever remains of her sanity.

Genevieve Burgess didn’t even like herself much as a teenager, never mind any of the other ones.
