We Finally Have New TV to Insult!
Gotham: Rise of the Villains on Fox at 8:00pm ET. Second season premiere.
Life in Pieces on CBS at 8:31pm ET. Series premiere. Family sitcom with a POV that switches between family members. The commercials don’t look bad, but it’s a comedy on CBS, so you know, temper expectations accordingly.
Minority Report on Fox at 9:00pm ET. Series premiere. I’ve seen commercials for this and all I can think is that someone said “Hey, that Sleepy Hollow show with the black lady cop and the dude with weird abilities is a hit, how can we do that again? Can we do it in the future?” And overall if this is the blueprint that Fox wants to build on for a while, I’m ok with it. Even if it means that Wilmer Valderrama is on my TV again. It’s also another show “set” in Washington DC so I get to spend all of it pointing out how clearly it is not in DC.
Blindspot on NBC at 10:00pm ET. Series premiere. Prison Break meets Memento starring the Lady Sif and a generic Australian tough guy Sullivan Stapleton both looks and sounds like something with a concept selected by roulette wheel. “Concept is ‘creepy tattoos’ starring ‘under appreciated female actress’ and ‘generic action dude’ set in ‘New York’ and the structure is ‘mystery procedural’, we can work with that!”
Castle on ABC at 10:01pm ET. Eight season premiere.
