We Cannot Escape the Hijinks, We Can Only Hope to Contain Them
American Ninja Warrior on NBC at 8:00pm ET.
Bachelor in Paradise on ABC at 8:00pm ET. I thought this was the more hedonistic version of The Bachelor, why is it on at 8:00pm?
Toe Tag Parole: To Live and Die on Yard A on HBO at 9:00pm. This is a documentary about a special program in California specifically for inmates serving sentences of life without possibility of parole. Some of the inmates were sentenced when they were teenagers, prior to the Supreme Court ruling that found this kind of sentencing unconstitutional for juveniles.
Significant Mother on The CW at 9:30pm ET. Series premiere. This is a new series about a guy whose recently separated mother is dating his best friend, but his dad totally wants her back! If you are a fan of hijinks, I am certain that this show will deliver lots of them right to you. As for downsides, the main character is played by 30 year old Josh Zuckerman and the mother is played by 44 year old Krista Allen. I’m sure one of them is playing down a few years, and the other one up a bit, but I’m still giving it a skeptical face for now.
Unreal on Lifetime at 10:00pm ET. I understand this is a thing lots of you are interested in but my “to get around to” TV list is too long for me to bother with it right now.
Genevieve Burgess takes her TV and reading lists very seriously. They are excellent excuses for when others try to bully her into shows or books.
